At Curacao-Actief you can hire a personal guide / diving instructor for a day or part thereof that will take care of you and your party for the entire diving session.
A standard diving session starts at approximately 09.00 hours to 14.00 hours. You will do two dives. Your personal guide/diving instructor will be at your disposal for the entire day.
Hiring a personal guide/diving instructor has many benefits:
- Your personal guide/diving instructor is exclusive to your party.
- You determine your own pace. You and/or your group will not be added to a beginner’s class.
- Besides accompanying you on the dives, our guide will share their knowledge on the scenery, the underwater world and the history of Curacao with you.
- You decide where you want to dive. Our guides know every rock on the island. They will recommend some of the most beautiful and extraordinary dive locations but of course remain open to your suggestions.
We’ve explored all the different sites and described them on our website, indicating which sites we feel are best, and whether the site is appropriate for novice divers or limited to those with more experience. Of course tastes differ:
- Wreck divers will not want to miss the picturesque coral encrusted Tugboat, the eerie bulk of the cargo ship Superior Producer, the remains of the SS Oranje at Shipwreck Point, or the underwater car graveyard at the Car Pile.
- Deep divers will enjoy the steep, seemingly endless drop-offs at the Wall, Hell’s Corner, and Klein Curacao.
- The magical Mushroom Forest and Playa Kalki are a must for photographers,
- Drift-dive lovers will delight in kicking up their fins and letting the current take them for a ride along the lush reef walls at Watamula and Oostpunt.
- Novice divers will feel secure inside the valley between the double reefs at Porto Marie, where the sandy bottom safely limits your depth to less than 50 feet and you can fine-tune your buoyancy without fear of damaging the reef or yourself.
- Technical divers and cavern divers will also find plenty of sites to their liking.
- Only ice divers might be a little disappointed!
When you book through Curacao Actief we let you choose your own top sites based upon your interests, tailoring a unique package to suit your needs, allowing you to enjoy your diving and relaxed vacation time and if you’re not sure which sites you’d like to dive, we love to help you decide based on your experience level and interests.

Requirements
1. Divers must be in possession of an approved diving certificate. An Advanced Open Water certificate is required for some dive locations.
2. Divers must sign a liability waiver and a medical statement.
If you prefer not to hire a personal guide/ diving instructor and would like to be included in a group, please call us when you are in Curacao regarding group availability. It is difficult for us to determine group numbers in advance so we cannot offer any guarantee of an available place. However, we will do our utmost to find a suitable group for you. Diving locations cannot be booked in advance. We do not require a minimum number of participants for a diving session to go ahead. We do not have our own qualified diving instructors; we work together with several diving schools. We will check availability on your behalf for a service fee of $25.
Terms and conditions:
Some of the dive sites are deep and strong currents are frequently present, like the Superior Producer and Car Pile. We reserve the right to refuse divers who do not possess the required dive skills or who in the opinion of the dive-master lack the physical condition required to safely complete the dive. We are always happy to suggest and guide easier alternate sites.
We request full payment in advance to secure the booking. We will confirm your reservation in writing once we receive the payment. Mother Nature can be unpredictable. We reserve the right to cancel a dive and to propose a different dive time and location in the event of bad weather, cruise ships docked at the Mega Pier (if diving the Superior Producer) or other unsafe conditions.
