Whilst walking you will be amazed at the different types of landscape. The Northern coast of Curaçao has robust high waves that beat the cliffs and burst into fountains of mist, in stark contrast with the Southern coast which is calm and protected by beautiful bays, lagunes and sandy river banks.
It's likely that Curaçao's landscape will make a barren impression at first, yet there are many spots that will pleasantly surprise the hiker. Necessities for a walk are good walking shoes, long trousers, a flashlight, water, camera, a hat and sunscreen. Due to the verocious sun and high temperatures it's advisable to take walks in the mornings until 11:00 or after 16:00 hrs. Accompanied walks last for a maximum of 2 hours.
