Roi Rincon
A brief stop at a
former Indian settlement, a park with various walking trails and the remains of some Caiquetio Indian settlements, the original inhabitants of Curacao. The park contains rare natural spring water pools, tropical birds, iguanas.

We continue to the wide-open desert planes, where your guide will indicate the volcanic and coral geological origins of the island, with three distinct terraces running for miles along the coastline.

Highlights include:

  • Shingot, an underground fresh water source, used by the indians.
  • Kueba di Pachi, a tunnel which leads uup to a higher level terrace with plenty of cacti and great views of the plains below.
  • Bull’s Eye, a giant dartboard circle of stones that was the former U.S. Air force training site during WW II, where pilots and bombardiers practiced for the bombings of Arnhem.
  • Kueba di Brua, the largest of the caves, with several bat inhabited chambers and impressive stalagmite and stalactite formations, from which your guide can create unique music. This cave was used for voodoo rituals by former slaves on the island.
  • Sabana di Arte and the Yubi Kirindongo art exhibition, where local artists have taken various materials scavenged from the sea to create diverse artwork along the coral cliffs.
The tour ends and you will be returned to your accommodation, cruise terminal or location of choice.
