The tropical island of Curaçao is a short 2 ½ hour flight from Miami. On arrival, the first impression you get from the island is that it is perfect for a relaxed, laid back beach vacation, where you can spend several weeks unabashedly immersed in the famously languid Caribbean lifestyle. From your vantage point beneath the palm trees of your paradise-like resort, flanked by exotic cocktails, bottles of refreshing local beer, and platters of fruit and seafood, this is certainly an accurate first impression. However this Antillean pearl possesses a surprisingly active side, for which it's definitely worth adjusting your daytime schedule. For the first few days we recommend you take it easy and let yourself mentally and physically acclimate to the climate. But then do something active for a few hours each day (after which lazing around is even more rewarding), and discover the many hidden treasures of this Dutch island:

  • Take a course in Catamaran sailing on a zippy new Hobie Cat, or rent a Sea Kayak for a few hours of playtime in the surf. Or head to the luxurious Spanish Water, where the rich and famous live, for some Windsurfing, where beginners can take Windsurfing lessons, or experts can rent a board and head out to open sea.
  • Choose from one of our Eco Tours, and let the experienced guides show you around unique historic and natural locations, including famous former plantations and slave sites.
  • Allow one of the friendly and skilled scuba instructors to accompany you on your first dive to 40 feet and enjoy the fantastic splendor of the island’s underwater world.
  • On Sunday mornings, come test your skills on the house race-course of one of the island’s many bike clubs. Or head up to Christoffel Park and take the 3 hour wilderness walk up Christoffel Mountain to 1240 feet, the highest point on the island.
  • On weekday evenings, come experience Curacao’s rich Caribbean culture and active salsa dancing scene with our friendly guides and dance instructors.

The best part is that all of these activities (and more!) can easily and conveniently be booked through this website. We will take care of everything so planning your day doesn’t become a chore for you. You’re on vacation after all. Have fun!
