Sunset Heights

15-12-2005
Ribbons at strategic points!Hanna, the 4 legged hiker, hitches a ride
SUMMARY:  Sunset Heights has an unmarked trail that is kept open by volunteers who cut back the encroaching
vegetation during the hike. The trails are marked with ribbons, especially at strategic turn-off's. The trail passes
through dense vegetation and over sharp coral rock. The ever-present Wabi acacia thorns are not everyone's
favourite, and our 4 legged friend grabs ever opportunity to be lifted over them. The trail, steep at times leads
to a point with a beautiful panoramic view over the valley and the northern coast. The entire vicinity surrounding
Sunset Heights offers a variety of scenery, fauna and flora, most notably the Castorbean (Castor Oil Plant),
the Takamahak with it's winged stalk, the large 'sunken wood' that boasts giant manzaliña trees, and the hidden
cave with dual chambers.

Duration: 2.5 - 3 hours
Distance: about 6 km.
