Telecommunications and Internet on Curacao
Making telephone calls from Curacao
Local and international telephone calls made from hotel rooms are expensive. We recommend you buy a prepaid telephone card for use at public phones. These are available from all petrol stations and supermarkets.
The phone book is colour-coded:
Emergency numbers: Listed at the front of the book.
White pages at front of book: Setel telephone numbers, information on Setel,
information on Curacao, information on use of telephone, etc.
White pages with orange edge: Information on international calls
Beige pages (front of book): Island Government services
Pink pages (front of book): Central Government services
White pages: Main local telephone directory
Blue pages (back of book): Medical institutions, doctors, dentists, etc.
Pink pages (back of book): Local fax numbers
Yellow pages: Businesses and companies etc with separate indexes in English, Dutch, Spanish and Papiamento.
Mobile Phones
The local mobile (cellular) phone companies have agreements with the major international networks. It is strongly recommended that you check calling costs and network coverage with your provider before you arrive. If you have a SIM lock free mobile (cellular) phone, you can purchase a local prepaid SIM card and top up cards from most retail outlets.
